Was admitted here in Oz several nights ago and fortunately was not heart (not sure if anything will fit next to 8 grafts and 4 stents) but severe diverticulitis. Bowel is malformed so might mean another serious surgery. Anyway, on a clear fluids diet and was really looking forward to a cup of tea this morning and it was cold! Oz is a coffee country now so hard to get good tea anywhere. Anyway, am streaming Escape to the Country, A Place in the Sun Home or Away etc to pass the time. Brit TV is so much better than ours and the US. Cheers

Lukewarm tea
Wishing you well and yuk to the cold tea! I've just been on holiday in the US and fortunately found one coffee shop that did proper English tea. They got a lot of custom!
That's a sad state of affairs re the tea . I see you have had probs with your gut for a while. If you are trying to pass the time you might like to google articles on the gut microbiome which seems to be tbe key to many health issues. Makes fascinating reading. Do hope you soon have a clear treatment plan ( always better when you know what you're up against). Sending best wishes.
Ah, hospital tea. I’ve been quite lucky at the main hospital I’ve been in lately with good cuppas although I have had a number of times when a cuppa or meal is delivered and the doctor turns up so you don’t end up eating or drinking it until it’s cold. There’s always a decent English breakfast tea at my place in Perth. Enjoy your viewing 😉
Hi CardiacManOz. Sorry to hear about the diverticulitis. It can be very painful. Let’s hope you get sorted soon. When my granddaughter moved to Sydney 3 years ago she had the same problem with the tea. She now drinks green tea which tastes the same hot or cold. Herbal and fruit teas can be good too.
G'DAY.
Sorry you're ill in hospital. Have you got any friends or relatives that could bring you a Thermos Flask. I was in hospital recently and had the problem of not getting enough hot drinks. 🍵☕
Are those the best Brit TV programmes you can see? 😂
Was in Harefield for op 6 months ago - stewed tea in plastic cups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! absolutely horrible! so tried the coffee - even yukkier - then hot chocolate - omg!!!!!!!!! lumpectomy or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! utterly disgusting
I admit I did cry when I got home and had my first cup
Diverticulitis is very painful. I took slippery elm to settle mine down, but only after all infection had gone. Hope you feel better soon.
Good luck and thinking of you xxxx
Oh Yuk ! Perhaps you could get someone to buy you teabags from the Net ? In the meantime ask someone to bring you hot water in a flask and teabags from a supermarket in Oz !
What is the treatment for Diver in Oz before surgery ? What kind of op do they give you? Keyhole surgery?
As you've probably gathered I have Diver . It was discovered 2 years ago when I was rushed into hospital with sepsis. I had intra antibiotics 3 times a day for 7 days . Nil by mouth too.
I keep getting Diver infections . An infection every month . I'm also coeliac . Usually the two go hand in hand . Are you?
Hospital tea is generally marginally better than hospital coffee...
