I was just wondering if anybody else feels as if their throat is swollen or tight after taking their daily ticagrelor and aspirin therapy. Is it something to do with incessant belching that I've had since starting these medications. I've been checked by the doc., it's not swollen but it sure feels as though it is.

What is this odd feeling in my neck.

I don’t know you’re circumstances, but my need to burp has improved. Are you taking a stomach protector in the morning 30 minutes before eating ? If so, I was told Lansoprazole is the best one to take with anti platelet drugs. It may well be certain foods too interacting with your meds. May be worth while keeping a food diary and to see if there is a correlation.
It was one of things I wanted to do most when I was having my heart attack... I felt that if I had a really good burp all would be well. Even on ward everyone was burping or other windy activities! It was quite funny laying in bed listening to all the sounds. Which led me to realise that this seemed to be a right of passage into the world of heart related issues !

Thanks for the reply. My belching has also decreased over the months but this neck sensation seems to be getting more persistent. I'm worried the meds are doing damage to the lining of the throat, i know it can damage stomach lining but I can't find any info on if it goes to the throat. The food diary is a good idea, I was thinking for a while it was caffeine, but not sure as it seems to come on about half hour after taking the meds.
The tightness in the neck could be several things . Did you have a heart attack and stents fitted or diagnosed and had stents fitted ?

I did have a "mild" heart atttack seven months ago, and had two stents put in, one in LAD and one in an artery branching off the LAD.
I would suggest reducing your caffeine intake any way , but the neck pain needs to be investigated further with GP or speak with the Cardiac Nurse.
