Do anyone else get pain across the back of their neck and shoulder blades?? Its so annoying as I can’t get comfy in bed or on a armchair. If so what do you do to get comfy and most off all to get some sleep 😬😬

Lynn do you think it could be statins? I know you said you have had some weight loss (was going to suggest sheepskin type throw) but I wonder if something else is in play. I have had various aches and pains and investigating that came across a number of references to shoulder pain with statins. It’s so difficult GP seems to want to attribute any twinge to angina but I didn’t have them before the stent and meds 😕 Sleep sometimes escapes me and being uncomfortable makes it so much worse x

Hi susieAG. Like you I never suffered with this kind off pain. Even to touch my shoulder blades firmly it hurts . I have an orthopaedic mattress which I loved until the last few wks.. I end up going into my sons bed where the mattress is soft and I can get more comfortable. I don’t want to change my mattress as I’m hoping that when I put the weight back on I will sleep ok again. I will mention this when I go doctors next wk. Thanks for your reply xx

Hi Lynn, not sure how relevant this is but I had a Heart attack and three stents three years ago and suffered similar aches and pains across my back and shoulders afterwards, I found within time it got better, until I read your post I realised I haven't had any pain for over 2 years now. I reckon it takes the body a while to settle into meds and get over hospital treatment.

Thanks stevemarcliff, that's reassuring that in time it will ease off.. I also had a HA and 3 stents 2 months ago. Fingers and toes crossed that I can get into my own bed in time.. I really appreciate your reply Steve x

Hi lynn, I've also heard that statins have these sort of side effects but your probably on various medications so it's hard to pinpoint which one it could be, also I think anxiety is a factor something we all seem prone to the good thing is that it does get better with time, has in my case , but definitely tell your doctor and of course don't stop dancing xx.

yes I am the same had 3 stents in June this year got pain between my shoulders and on my bone in the centre of my chest and stiff neck and now and then all my joints are sore

May be its due to too much radiation from Xrays. it seems to be slowly getting better

I do Lynn. This was how I eventually found out I had pericarditis. For ages I thought it was my arthritis. The anti inflammatory seems to have stopped this but at the time I could only sleep on my back propped up with pillows

I too have pericarditis which causes sternum and pain between shoulder blades. Unfortunately I cannot seem to find the best medication to ease my discomfort. I cannot tolerate ibuprofen or Naproxen. I was initially given colchicine which had little effect. Grateful for any advice or suggestions

i’ve had pain in shoulders, neck and arms for at least 7 weeks.. suffer from microvascular angina .. visited gp 2 weeks ago and she puts it down to a trapped nerve.. i’m also on statins and bp meds plus ivabradine and isorobide.. after reading this i’m beginning to wonder about the trapped nerve diagnosis
