Right Sided Aortic Arch

Hi, I’m not sure if I’m in the right place here but I am looking to talk to others with experience of a right sided aortic arch and vascular ring.

At my 20 week scan my baby was diagnosed with this and he was born in January and seems to be doing well at the moment.

I would love to hear others stories and get some advice.

Thanks

Jade

My little boy was also diagnosed with this in utero at 25 weeks. He is now 9 months. Happy to answer any questions if I can x

Hi, thank you for replying.

How is your little one doing? Has he had any symptoms yet?

Being a first time mum I am constantly worrying about what’s normal and what could be linked to his condition! X

It's not just a first time mum thing, Freddie is my number 5 and I'm a worrier too 😉. He's doing well, compared to my others he seems to take longer to get over colds and bugs (although that may not be linked to his diagnosis, who knows!). We have been seeing our local cardiologist for regular echocardiograms. There is a couple of really good Facebook groups (based in USA but with lots of people from the uk) one is vascular ring support and the other is double aortic arch/vascular ring (chd) awareness support group. There are people in both groups whose little ones have had the exact same diagnosis as you who can offer advice and support. Which hospital are you being looked after by? X

Glad he’s getting on well :)

The groups on Facebook sound good, I’ve been looking for something like that. What do I search to find them?

We are being looked after by the Evelina in London, where are you?

X

We were originally at Great Ormand Street, now we're seen by our local hospital in Norfolk. You should be able to just search for the Facebook group by their name, or look me (Teresa Reed) up and I can share the details.

We are also from Norfolk (inbetween Diss & Norwich) but currently living in Surrey as my husband is in the Army.

I will look you up on Facebook, would be great if you could share the details :)

Thanks
