I had an AVR last year and was given aspirin to take daily. My blood pressure prior to the operation was always low - around an average of 115/65 but since the operation it has risen to an average of around 138/85. I have noticed that the diastolic pressure in particular has increased. I was told that aspirin can contribute to raising blood pressure - is there any truth in that. I should add that I eat very well, do not smoke or drink and have a daily exercise regime.

Hi Ras53
Very difficult to answer your question as we are all different 112/65 for me is pretty normal and I take a 75mg Aspirin , along with a 10mg Bisoprolol and Eplerenone. So it would be difficult to say if the Aspirin would increase blood pressure. Looks like you need advice from a professional !! Hope you get the answer.
