8 days ago had a stent fitted in my RCA, previously had two stents fitted last August after a Heart Attack. Amongst other things , over the last couple of days my right calf has become very painful, it almost feels like I have got pins and needles, with frequent sharp pains. It is very uncomfortable and makes me want to keep moving and massaging it, although that doesn’t ease it. Could this be Statins, as have heard that this can cause leg pains ... but it is predominantly in my right leg ? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Penfold. I think you should get it checked out. You don’t mention if your stent was via the leg or arm. However regardless I think its worth having it checked. I had a problem with my first statin but it was more general all over aches and severe spasms. Although of course different people react differently to medication. Especially as it’s the calf worth checking it out. Hope everything else is going ok. Take care. Zena
Interesting I had some twitching in calf muscles. Not connected it with my statin. How would you identify the statin as cause as opposed to other CAD symptoms.
It was through the arm. Will get it checked out if it doesn’t ease. As well as it can , thanks Zena
Hello Penfold, are you taking Bisoprolol? This can cause severe leg pains and fatigue. Some beta blockers do have unfortunate side effects.
No, not taking Bisoporol.. they did try me on it but heart rate went dangerously low.
