My legs are quite thin so don't understand the dent in my right leg if I'm honest?? I have been drinking alot and elevating my legs must just be the heat sorry for jumping to conclusions but I can't help it that's anxiety and having a chronic illness 🤷♀️😌

Still have the dent in my leg?
Hi Yumz!
Don’t worry about posting again. I remember when I came back recently from a holiday in April, my ankles and feet were swollen. It took upto a week for it to disappear, and it was literally the most tiniest bit of fluid retention. Despite that, it still took a while to go away.
I still wouldn’t worry. It’s been quite hot where I was today, so there’s still a chance that the weather is causing it.
The good thing is that tomorrow is Monday, so if you find that you’re still worried in the morning, call the GP for an appointment for some reassurance x
Thanks tos for understanding that helps alot x yeah I might wait until it calms down and if I still have it then I will go to gp about it i do have check up on 3rd of July so maybe will mention it then.
I agree with tos92, this heat is affecting everyone, even my ankles have been a bit puffy today. If waiting til the 3rd July is gonna feed your anxiety, I would phone your GP tomorrow and get an appt, just to put your mind as rest. Never worry about how many times you're posting about something that's worrying you. And definitely never worry about contacting your GP or your medical team, I know they'd rather you contact them than fret & worry about things as that certainly isn't great for you xx
Thanks lezzers Iooked up about it and it's called pitting oedema and can be caused by heart valve disease and heart murmur which I have 😳xx
Yes it probably can be caused by those conditions but that doesn't mean it is pitting oedema. It's much more likely to be a result of the intense heat at the moment. If it was anything serious too worry about both your legs would be pitted & it would be the whole leg not just one area
Please try to stop worrying, I'm going to insist you call your GP tomorrow so your mind can be put at rest xx
Hello
I am still coughing to
I sense this is worrying you and I understand that feeling and when I feel like that it does not matter how much anyone tries to convince me everything is ok until I see the Doctor I just cannot settle
If you think this is you and how you will feel then phone and make an appointment if nothing else you will have peace of mind that everything is ok
Let us know how you get on x
I'd probably call the GP and let them have a look, at least this way it's on your records and you'll get some guidance
I'm now a firm follower of "if any doubt, get it checked out". May well be nothing but as it's bothering you give the GP a ring.
I think it’s the hot weather Y . By the end of the day my legs are a bit puffy and my stomach seems very bloated with it. It’s water retention with the heat. To stop you worrying l would go see the doctor or nurse. The anxiety and worry makes everything worse. I am the worlds worst for that and my anxiety goes through the roof when l have a medical issue. My mind goes to the worst possible scenario so get it checked and then you will feel lots better. Let us know how you get on. 🥰
Thanks hun x yeah the dent in my leg is new but the bloating in my belly had that for ages way before the heat wave, I have been to doctors about it and at first they figured water infection because of the sample colour and the tenderness in my belly so I'm now on omeprozole 20mg one a day and the bloating isn't so big but still there and now the dent in my leg? So I can't help but think heart related and like you my mind always jumps to the worst possible scenerio. I think I'm getting a migraine just from stressing about it really wish I wasn't like this 😭😢😐. I have check up in July so I will mention then I have taken two pictures of it so if it does go in the mean time I can show them that I did that with my belly and they agreed was very bloated. X
If the swelling gets worse, painful or red then you need to see dr asap. My daughter gets Cellulitis and has had a blood clot in her leg so know the signs. Don’t want to scare you anymore than you are Y but keep an eye on it. You know the drill l am sure but look after yourself sweetheart. 🥰
call your GP and put your mind at rest you will then start to feel better I’m not going to say don’t worry because that’s what we do !!! 🙄sending hugs xx
Hi, you really need to seek medical intervention today if you can. It sounds like you may have edema and ascites. Please contact your GP for treatment and advice.
If you call your GP there are several possibilities:
1) they will ask you to go for a face to face appointment so they can check it out;
2) they will suggest you wait another few days and call them again if no improvement;
3) they will be able to reassure you that it's nothing to worry about;
4) if they think it's an emergency, they will tell you to go to A&E.
They will not shoot you down in flames!
Please call them and see if you can talk about your concern. Otherwise, you'll keep fretting about it and that dip in your leg will seem bigger and bigger every time you look at it!
I completely understand your anxiety. Speaking from experience, I would say 'call the GP now!' if you haven't already done so.
All the best,
xx Moy
Thanks moy, when I call my GP they always say its best to come between 8 and 10 in the morning so it's way past that 😅. I think it's probably the heat and nothing to worry about i feel silly yet again for even worrying about it 🙈. It's good to hear someone understands the anxiety side though it's hard when every fibre in your being is telling you something is wrong and then the next day your like nah probably nothing. It has called down alot so I will give it a few more days and then I will send the gp a message and if they think it's anything they always get back to me x
I can worry for England when I come accross a new 'possible' symptom, so I know where you're coming from.I'm always surprised how often the problem disappears shortly after being reassured - either through finding good info online, or speaking to a medic.
Hope you're able to feel relaxed about it soon. Xx Moy
