Pharmaceuticals

I do declare its no wonder heart issues are on the rise..just look at how many modern pharmaceutical drugs list and advertise new or worsening heart failure as a potential side effect..As well as causing cancer and many other illnesses. The quick fix to a symptom for a disorder..leads to more illness and more required Pharmaceuticals.

It Is a bad thing to want a quick fix. There are a lot of issues that can be reversed without meds..but we are a society of..I WANT IT, AND I WANT IT NOW.

Well we are paying the price..and it is EXPENSIVE.

This is a valid observation.

The body can only take so much. Many conditions can be either alleviated or avoided altogether. This would start with what we put- or do not put - in our mouths, day in day out.

Having said that, sometimes it's just very bad luck, and we are hit thru no fault of our own.

It is then that we start running the gauntlet of "side effects"... talking about being between a Rock and a Hard Place.....!

You NAILED That One.... We've Become "The Pill People" ! > [ i hate being dependent on a pill. yet here i am with all these meds. it really eats at me. ] People Are Actually Being FORCED To Take Meds. They Have No Choice At The Time. 98% Of ALL Meds Given Are For "Symptoms" & NOT To Cure The Cause !

PLUS Docs Will ALWAYS Tell You That Surgery Should Be Your Last Resort. > So, You've Found A "Problem & Cause", Which Is Most Likely The Cause & Source Of The Problem, But You'd Rather Shove 4 Different Meds Down My Throat For Years & Keep Me Coming Back For "Symptom Treatments", Knowing ALL The Med Side Effects & Long Term Possible Health Damage They Can Give Me, Rather Than Going In There & Fixing The Problem ?*

Now, What Was The Real Reason I Went To The Doc In The First Place ?* To Find & FIX The "Problem" First & Foremost.

I Know There Are Many Conditions That May Be Unknown or/ Only Managed. But How Many Are ? Makes Ya Wonder Why....

[pause and calmly think about it.]

In general the increase in medication is due to two factors: i) people are living longer so that average lifespan had doubled in recent centuries and ii) too many people eat carp and drink too much. I am happy to accept people need more medical care as they get older but not with what is no more than self abuse. Yes some drugs have side effects but the alternative can be far worse!

I agree, MichaelJH. What you say is sad but true.

Not many of the anti pill brigade give them up totally do they?

No, R1100S1, of course not, sorry if you misunderstood me or MichaelJH.

The pills, the drugs, in many cases they ARE life savers.

Their side effects are there, side effects which may -in rare cases- be extremely serious. Like some anti-cancer drugs/treatments, which may even cause secondary cancers...Not nice!

Yet you still have to pop the pill. Or take the radiation.

So yes, it does boil down to a choice between two evils, and what a sad choice it is.

That is what I meant when I said we find ourselves between a Rock and a Hard place.

Not what you're looking for?
