Hi Doublef
You have been on quite a rollercoaster. I’m glad your eyesight was saved, despite having to take the steroids for the next 10 months. I hope the steroids don’t give you too many side effects.
Let us know how your appointment goes on Monday regarding your carotid artery and if surgery is needed for the blockage.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed all will be well 🤞🏽
All the best.

I’m very sorry to hear of your health situation. It is wonderful that your sight was saved and there are treatments underway for the cause and to prevent further issues.
It must be very hard to comprehend everything that is going on. I send you my very best wishes .
Let us know how you get on.
Life is very Traumatic for you at present. But at least they reacted quickly. Hope everything goes well with your operation. Keep us informed. Good luck. Brian
Are you talking about Giant Cell Arteritis?
It sounds terribly worrying and very like what my husband had (and recovered from using big doses of steroids)). You can search for PMR GCA on the Health Unlocked Search box above.
Theres lots of useful information and tips there. Do come back if you have difficulty,
Hi, Doublef,
It sounds like you are going through a very rough patch right now—-and it is slow going, but you are still moving forward! It was truly a blessing that the doctors could save your eyesight!
If you have the surgery on Monday, I wish you the very best for a successful operation and recovery. Please let us know how it all goes for you.
I know that this all has to be incredibly scary, but I am sure that your medical team will see you through it all. I will send positive thoughts and prayers your way. 🙏❤️
Glad to say it i Is responding to steroid treatment for 10 months and do not need surgery, thanks for your comments
That is great news—no surgery!! I am really happy that the steroids are working for you.
Take care of yourself. 😊
