ectopic heart beats
there are quite a few on here who have these including myself. what i find strange is that when having these for some reason it doesn't seem to be picked up on ecg and yet these are extra heartbeats.
when i got them bad outside they made me feel faint. i do have mild heart problem with leaky heart valve and some very mild CAD.
best thing if they start to bother you best to get it checked by a doctor esp if they come in multiples for quite a while.
(it would be interesting to see a blood pressure reading as they are happening.)
Caffeine and stress are two common causes.
Hello Manhattan
Ectopic Heart beats are mostly Harmless !!! They can come 1 in 3 or 1 in 5 or just Random. As I sit here replying to your post every third heart beat is an Ectopic. On a recent Holter Monitor the Cardiologists remark " Fairly Frequent Ectopic Beats recorded " that was 1 in 5 , My letter says they can contribute to a shortness of breath or trigger arrhythmia BUT I have had both Stents and By pass Surgery, along with Heart Failure so I do have Heart Related Issues not just Ectopic Beats. Ectopic Beats have been a constant to live with for the past 30 odd years and I am still in reasonable shape !! so try to not worry just get it checked with your GP .
Best regards
I've had ectopics for years. They aren't really extra beats. The heart is late doing one beat so makes up for it with two closer together. I did a stress test looking for mine and nothing showed until after the test was over. They happened to leave the electrodes attached and I had several once I sat down.. I was told they were harmless and to try to ignore them but as you have heart problems you should get them checked out. it depends what part of the heart they come from.
thanks to
everyone who replied😊.. seems to have settled down. before the other night i’d had sporadic events of ectopic beats.. but never as many over several hours.. if it happens again with the same intensity i’ll have a word with the gp👍
