Diagnosed 6 years ago with atrial fibrillation, following a scary episode when my lungs filled and I couldn't breathe, what is paroxysmal atrial fibrillation? I haven't heard that mentioned before, is it a different thing? I'm told I have HF and take a lot of medication, difficult to get much info from busy doctors so I just plod on, no energy, appreciate any advice or info

i have a different medical condition but it also has the same wording in it and have just looked up to find the meaning - it is a fit, attack, or sudden increase or recurrence of symptoms

hope this help it also now gives me a better understanding here.

The word paroxysmal just means the event happens occasionally.

I have the same thing and it just comes and goes after about 30 seconds.

Only recently diagnosed and I have more ECG tests etc due next week
