Hi, my 44 year old husband had a heart attack a year ago and an emergency stent fitted. He is planning on using the chainsaw this weekend and I just wondered if this is advisable or not?

Many thanks.

Is he allowed to drive? If so he is safe to use a chain saw!

Call 111 and ask the question? there is vibration on any machine!

Why not get some one else to do the work?

There are only the two of us and I wouldn’t like to use it. I got through to a cardiac nurse and she said it was ok. Thanks for the response 👍

Hi,

I had two heart attacks in March and have used a chain saw a few times since. No problem just stop if he feels weary or in pain.

If knows how to use one, why not? If he is enjoying himself doing something useful and above all feeling back to normal as much as he can do, crack on!

One of my few life resolutions is never to use a chain saw.

I have a large garden but even so. I wouldn't recommend a healthy person use one.

Pay a gardener to do the work

Take care

They are safe but you need eye protection, ear protection and reinforced gloves as a minimum

Kevlar trousers are also a good idea.
