As I write I’m in hospital waiting for echo cardiogram and to be honest getting very worked up.
Long story short breathlessness put down to a chest infection is probably angina, ECG shows change and I had raised BNP levels... GP sent me straight here earlier this week.
I am breathless on exertion, heart slightly enlarged but no change from 2 years ago so something amiss.
I’m frightening myself with scenarios and would welcome any reassuring words or advice x

You could call the BHF Heart Helpline on 0300 330 3311 and talk to a cardiac nurse about it. I had 4 CABGs in 1997 and I am still alive, so your chances are good. Try to keep positive. You will go through bad days but those make you appreciate the good days. Good Luck! 🤗 A hug is on it's way!
After the post above echocardiogram was OK but cardiologist decided on angiogram - outcome not so good!
One major blockage and a fuzzy area - things moved quickly and angioplasty took place on Tuesday one stent fitted and other area explored (no treatment). Discharged home with a bag full of medication a bit overwhelmed and exhausted and trying to convalesce.
I am thankful for their intervention and all help and advice in reality it has been a positive but I’m struggling to appreciate that at the moment.
It will take a little time for things to settle down and I don't doubt one of the next ports of call will be the Rehab Clinic. Just make sure you do as you are told and take things a little easier for now. If you go to the BHF website itself there are a great array of pamphlets & brochures you can download. Onwards & upwards as they say.
You are concerning yourself without a diagnosis - The one and only fact is that you are in hospital and there is no safer place to be. If you were at home and concerned about something, I could understand but whilst in hospital remember you could not be in a better place. My only worry would be that they send you home without any answers, which I assure you, they will not do. Enjoy the TV and stop winding yourself up over worrying about everything. Think of the Monty Python song - "Always look on the bright side of life"
