Holiday after surgery

My surgery was 24th May and my family and I would like to fly off to Barcelona for a long weekend next month. Feeling good, no health issues for now, fingers crossed. Assuming it's safe to go, what insurance is best? Don't want to pay a fortune for the sake of a few days, but then, better safe than sorry!

I wouldn't think there would be a problem Check out the pinned post for travel and life insurance on this forum. Alternatively, just search the forum. There was something posted just the other day as I recall.

Yes I'm okay thank you Jane, it was just fresh in my mind having witnessed the aftermath of some people having their bags and passports taken from my local caffe

I'm sure that you will enjoy the city September/October is a nice time to be there

Try lnsurancewith, they are really good, and reasonable. Also a Consultant told me that Barcelona has one of the best heart hospitals in the med. Heed the thief warnings!!!! my niece had her phone and purse stolen while posing for a photo in front of a fountain in Barcelona. Two "nice" young girls befriended her and offered to take a family photo while another member of their gang robbed a load of them in seconds they then all disappeared, his arm was captured on the camera dipping in their handbags. Apart from that have a lovely break in the sunshine.

Thanks for the insurance tip Kefalonia (another place I love!). I'm going to learn Catalan for 'stop, thief!', and 'come back here you wee so-and-so!' (I'm Scottish). And if I keel over with the effort of the chase, good to know I'll be in safe hands at Barcelona Hospital! 😁

Barcelona is beautiful and I’m sure you will have a lovely time. Re the theft issues also beware of cyber theft. I wouldn’t log onto free WiFi in Barcelona. Our daughter used to live there and we went many times. She was mugged twice and we had credit card details stolen.
