Hi All, I spoke to the cardiology department today. My Chest pain nurse was not there, so I spoke to his colleague. She was horrified to hear that my Beta Blockers were stopped by someone at my GP surgery. She looked at the letter that was sent, and said it was written to consider, did not say stop them? I did explain that I had gone back up to the Chemist on Saturday, and the pharmacist gave them to me. I also had to reassure that I had not missed one, that I had got them and that I had enough until I go to my appointment with my GP on 12. She said she would speak to my nurse tomorrow. So I expect a phone call. Thank goodness I said to him what I did last Tuesday, as I would have been none the wiser and accepted that the prescription had been stopped. She said obviously not by the DR. I also telephoned the chemist and spoke to a really nice Pharmacist today, who was appalled that this had been done, 180mgs dropped straight to 0mgs! She said you have to be weaned off gradually not straight away. So she has written on the computer that I am to get my Beta Blockers regardless what is said by the GP Surgery!! She also stated that it could not have been done by the GP. As they would have re-scripted a lower dose. So I guess once I have spoken to my cardiac nurse tomorrow, someone is in trouble at my GP Surgery!!! Will let you all know.
Regards Dee.
