So having hit 50 5 years ago I have since been diagnosed with diverticular disease, had a STEMI HA and discovered I have a pfo. Last week I saw a neurologist who is pretty sure that what my GP thinks are TIAs - caused by pfo are actually hemiplegic migraines. I have an appointment for urgent MRI this week so should get more answers, but its looking like we start medication bingo again.
Hi Gill. Rant away this age thing sucks! Glad you’re getting an MRI fairly quickly. Starting new medication is always a pain. Hopefully it will adjust quickly. Stay strong. Zena x
Thank you Zena - it's just crazy how quickly life has gone downhill. When I had my HA even the paramedics laughed when I told them it was my first ambulance trip and my first A&E visit. I must have saved all my ill health up. One interesting thing is my local hospital is a large teaching/research base so I am giving them loads of bits and pieces to look at and poke around at 😀
I totally agree. Having no never been an inpatient I turned 50 and have had polyps removed from my womb, two AVR ops and was diagnosed with cancer which turned out to be a rogue spleen and resulted in a splenectomy! Getting old sucks! ☹️
I personally am just happy to wake up on the right side of the grass...at least I can fight another day. Age IS rubbish apart from a bus pass and a bowel testing kit not a lot going for this age thing...well apart from grandchildren, friends, holidays, and life...I try to enjoy it all....because we all know it will end in tears sooner or later.
