Hi there everyone, does anybody out there know where to find a more comprehensive list of abbreviations for heart complaints/procedures etc?I have a list at the back of the bhf booklet and I’ve figured a few out myself, but there are quite a lot mentioned on here that leave me puzzled .

Ttfn lol

Useful to know what e@ch means. But...another view...why don’t we spell things out? Much easier for the reader.

Your question has really helped me. I am very puzzled by all the abbreviations. I have bookmarked the site that Mirador flagged up. Thank you for asking about that information.

Your welcome Mirtle and thanks again to Joan for posting it, it’s very comprehensive..... but can somebody please explain what an EP is please 🤔 we are lucky to have so many friendly helpful folk on here

Hi

An electrophysiology (EP) study is a test performed to assess your heart's electrical system or activity and is used to diagnose abnormal heartbeats or arrhythmia. The test is performed by inserting catheters and then wire electrodes, which measure electrical activity, through blood vessels that enter the heart.

Hope this helps a little

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve, thanks very much all’s becoming clearer. The way I read it I thought it was a medical person lol , as in according to the EP . Doesn’t take a lot to confuse me, Jez
