Just over 3 months ago at the age of 49 I had a heart attack. I was completely unprepared for it and didn’t know what was happening to me or even that I was at risk.

To help me come to terms with what had and was happening to me I started to write a blog, particularly as I could find very little written by survivors.

I have found the experience hugely therapeutic and wanted to share the posts with you in case they were of benefit to anyone else in the group. I also hope that they will raise the profile of the issue within my age group.

So far there are...

‘I’m 49 and I’ve had a heart attack.’

Thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts. You have covered all aspects of how I feel and what a journey we are on and that it will continue to be a roller coaster ride of emotions but at the same time how lucky we are. I keep reminding myself this has only happened in March and that my body and mind needs time to heal.

Mine was in March as well and you are absolutely right, it really is a rollercoaster and you certainly do go through a real range of emotions. Best of luck with your rehabilitation and thanks for your comments on my blog.
