Just a bit of context, 21 man overweight and suffer with hypothyroidism, anxiety and depression. My anxiety has a lot to do with my heart with me having a lot of tests done including an echo, lots of ECGs, X-ray and bloods even as recently as 3 weeks ago I had these and everything including troponin came back fine.
however I’ve been dealing with this left arm pain on and off for the last 6 months but had changed recently over the last month or so to more of an achy feeling and just pulsating pain. It kindve built up last night and became really painful, now I think I’ve had a heart attack. I haven’t had chest pain, just tired and scared. My mum says I look fine as usual but my brain won’t stop.

These are the major symptoms of a heart attack according to the NHS...
If you believe you have had any of those you should seek professional help as perhaps in a trip to A&E irrespective of what others may tell you. Further I suggest no one on here can advise you on your condition since they are not in a position to have access to your medical records and properly investigate your symptoms as presented and importantly most likely not medically qualified.
Hi. Your Arm Pain also could be closely related to your Anxiety and Depression a lot of the time, especially if you feel 'Constantly Tense'!! All the Tests came back Negative so that is a very good sign. Are you taking anything for your Anxiety/Depression? If not, have a Word with your Doctor, (not easy I know these days), but you really should. Good Luck 🤞
yeah I’m currently switching medication so I don’t know if that’s effecting everything. I’m just thinking oh what if in the last 3 weeks I’ve suddenly developed having a heart attack at 21. I feel I’m going to be that one outlier. Probably my anxiety saying that.
thanks I needed that. I know people ain’t qualified doctors but people can get the fear and feelings which helps.
Hello
How did you get on while your parents were away I know you were worried about it
You had tests 3 weeks ago what made you go for them did they ask you or did you panic and need reassuring ?
I have health anxiety and I know it can lead to needing a lot of reassuring but that only lasts so long before you need it again
I have read you are swapping meds that can take a while to settle and you can get some strange and wonderful feelings while your body adjusts
Are you getting some therapy I believe you might have been and you could benefit from it
I know you always say you are overweight and if you could work on losing some it could help with the aches and pains you get as well as protecting you heart so keep trying to go for a walk and change your eating habits
I know your Mum would tell you if she thought you needed to go to the Hospital as she knows you better than anyone and loves you so if she says you are ok then I bet you are
Sounds like you are very anxious again could be due to swapping meds but when these start to work I hope they will help you to control your fears
thank you for the response, I was ok while they were gone. Stayed around a lot of friends and socialised. I went for the chest pain and arm pain last time. But it was more painful last night which has made more anxious. I know my mum would want me to stay safe but just frightened of it all atm and now so tired of it all mentally and physically.
I am glad you got to see friends while they were away it sounds like you enjoyed it
Of course we are not Doctors on here but sounds like you are very anxious and when we are we tense the muscles all in our bodies which eventually can cause pain
Try looking up tensing muscles and how to relax them there are some examples on how to help relax them x
just read through the posts and I know exactly how you feel as I’m in the same boat!! It’s a horrible place to be in. It takes over your life it’s all you think about and it’s always the worse outcome that we think about!
There is so much out there to help us. Meditation, forums like this are really good and reassuring, counselling which you can speak to your gp about, exercising is great even if it’s short walks to start with, eating more healthy, setting small goals even if it’s as simple as walking round the block. It’s the little things that make us feel good.
When you are feeling so scared, is there someone you could phone and talk to - thinking Samaritans, Lifeline or similar. It's so easy to let worries build up in your head (especially in the middle of the night) that you feel you might explode. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Take care x
Hi sorry to hear of your troubles. I have suffered with really bad anxiety since my teenage years and I am now 64 so I do understand. It's very tiring and that's without other medical issues going on. It sounds reassuring with the tests you havd had and I assume you havd been told that your heart is of normal structure. Are you by any chance left handed?
The world is full of "What if's?" I myself suffered from terrible health anxiety about 25 years ago, believing that I had the beginnings of a degenerative condition that would cause me to deteriorate gradually until I eventually died. I'm glad to say that my worries were groundless and I learned from that experience that a worst-case scenario usually does not come to pass!
Hi, I’ve had heart failure 7 months ago. I’m 62, with a history of anxiety and depression. These days, I’m using a lot of apps for anxiety depression and CPTSD. They are really seriously helping . A few are “Breethe” , and “I am” (love that one) “CBT journal “ , and “motivation”. I’m doing all I can to get and stay in a healthy mindset because that has an effect on the body.
