Hi there I’m 29, been diagnosed with SVT , and still going to do a stress test next week. I was always fit and never suffered from any of this up until the middle of my pregnancy. Before it I had maybe a few times of irregular beats but nothing symptomatic. I thought that was due to stress. Well after having my child 2 months ago I been diagnosed with SVT. But something new and strange have been happening recently. For the past 2-3 weeks I notice sometimes at night while I’m going to bed I notice my heart will beat normally then out of nowhere it feels like it drops!! And takes a little pause almost like it stops! Then comes back hard with a quick trigger rate. Almost like an elevator feeling of drop. This is new for me. I know now I do suffer from anxiety due to fear of falling asleep now because of it. Anyone have this happen before???my heart itself looks normal done an echo x ray etc everything normal. I’m just baffled?

Heart feels like it takes a long pause or stops
Yes, I get that sometimes. It's a type of ectopic beat....one beat comes in early so there's a lag before the next one.Not great but pretty common.
I have Atrial Fibrillation and have experienced this, sounds like an ectopic beat. They are not usually something to be too concerned with although I know they can easily trigger anxiety.
Worth mentioning to your doctor, but would try not to worry too much.
Thanks for the response, I’m glad I’m not the only one. Yesterday’s was a peaceful sleep thank god. But I’m trying to just wait for my appointment and mention it in the follow up again. I mentioned it already but they dismissed it because I’m young. So I’ll try mentioning it again if it keeps happening
Hi Valley Horizon, Indeed over many years I had the very similar episodes. I started having differring arrhythmia in my 20's and am now 76. I had long periods of stability apart from AT but to be honest, I have had nearly 50 years of SVT Atrial Fibrillation and just so many ectopic beats. I was so fixated on them that it truly caused a poor quality of life. When I realized that in most cases, ectopics and SVT are not life threatening, I learned to accept the abnormality and live with it. I have now had (at 75) 2 cardiac ablations to "cure" the AF and currently work out for half an hour every day. Honestly I would not be too concerned unless there is an underlying cause which has not been explored.
Hi Valley
My Cardiologist said not to worry about them ! I have pauses that last approx. 3 seconds and like you say it feels like it has stopped. My Heart Nurse said it's a pause it hasn't stopped otherwise everyone around you would know it had stopped and so would you !!!
Stay well Stay safe
