hi i'm Nick i am 5 weeks post MI and 1 stent in LCX , 42 years old , ex smoker (5 weeks) and currently changing lifestyle. i have managed to lose 1st 10lbs in the last 5 weeks through a combination of healthy living, exercise and worry. Going to Cardio Rehab here in Warwickshire and it is great feel confident and safe when there, the question i have is in the last 2-3 weeks i have developed really bad back ache and sore ribs im pretty sure they are bone related and not heart related and thought they might be weight loss related but wondered if anyone else had had these troubles.

Been reading this forum a lot and so many positive people and helpful advice seems a great place to be when feeling anxious .

Nick

Hi Nick. Welcome well done on losing the weight that’s great news. Since my heart attack in June last year I lost 32kgs over 40 weeks. I too had lots of aches and pains which I couldn’t distinguish between so had a variety of tests. I now get back ache with the exercise if I overdo it. So it maybe worth checking in with your doc. Not sure it’s weight loss related although sometimes I know I have altered my posture and so get aches from that. (Not so much belly fat to carry round so standing straighter so neck shoulders and thoracic spine hurt!!!-there’s always something!!) also speak to the rehab nurses they will also be able to help. If in doubt do check. Hope you continue to lose weight get fitter and feel better. Take care. Zena

Don't do too much. You can easily hurt yourself. Rome wasn't built in a day. Plenty of rest is as important. Xx
