My name is Fiona and I was diagnosed with Heart Failure in September 2016. My left ventricle was working at 17% and with medication is now at 23%. I had just had my 61st birthday. The cardiologists feel it has been caused by the chemotherapy treatment I had after being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 48. I live in Berkshire with my husband and our menagerie.

Hi Fiona. Welcome. This is a great site for support and sharing. I have found it really supportive even though I never got round to introducing myself! It’s good to chat with people who understand some of the issues. Take care and look after yourself. Zena
Hi Fiona, sorry to hear about your heart failure, I had chemo when I was 12 through to 14 and now I'm 52 and was diagnosed with heart failure about 3 years ago and they put it down to the chemo, it is an unfortunate thing that it can come back and haunt us. best wishes.
Hello Fiona, I saw one of your posts and noticed we have a similar diagnosis. I too have hf that I've been told was caused by chemo. I had this twice, for breast cancer, in 2001 and 2006. My hf was diagnosed 2 years ago. I'm now 57. My hf was quite bad by the time I was diagnosed but I'm just taking medication atm and had improved it to 40% about a year ago. I hope that you're feeling better now and it's under control! I've seen a few people on here who have had chemo too. Sometimes I think it's hard to work out when I'm tired, as to whether it's HF or age!!
