Good afternoon, my name is Dori1 and I’ve just joined the forum to learn a little bit more.

I don’t live in the UK, I live in Spain.

Iv’e been reading your experiences and I’d like to share my journey so far.

I went to my GP in the middle of February with a pain under my right arm moving to my rib cage. I had recently travelled and really believed I’d just pulled a muscle, the doc thought the same. Painkillers for 3 days and back to him if no improvement. Back after 3 days as not much change. He there and then printed off the letter and I went to our main health centre for an x-ray on my lungs, by the time I got back to his office he had the results. My lungs were fine but showed an enlarged heart.

That was a Monday, he ordered more blood tests and an ECG for the Thursday, and back to him for results the next morning. He took a photo of the ECG and did a report while I was there and sent it to the hospital. Almost 2 weeks ago I got a message from the hospital with an appointment for Friday with the cardiologist. All this on the equivalent of the NHS.

My symptoms are breathlessness, I’ve stopped walking the 8 K I did 5 times a week, tiredness, and a pain under my left breast and my back shoulder. I’m looking forward to seeing the specialist on Friday as I hate feeling the way I do. If anyone is interested I’ll keep you updated. I understand I’m not in England so won’t be offended if no one is.

Stay healthy 🙏🏻

Hello :-)

Goodness the NHS sounds quick in Spain :-)

The fact you are in Spain does not matter members on here are from other places as well as the UK and it is wonderful that no matter where we are we can share and support each other :-)

I would like to know how you get on and look forward to your update :-) x

Hi, Dori1,

I’m in the U.S., but I very much want to know how you get on. I’m happy that it sounds like you are getting treatment very quickly (which is wonderful!). Early intervention can likely make a world of difference for you.

I will look forward to reading your update! Lots of positive thoughts being sent your way! 😄💕❤️

good morning. This must be a worrying time for you but it sounds as though everything is happening which should make things clearer. I played golf just outside Valencia one day last week so surely that makes us nearly neighbours even if I’m back in Wales!

Welcome to this supportive community Dori1.

For many of us the journey to diagnosis and then treatment has been rather slow, which creates additional anxiety. From what you have described so far, it sounds as though your care is being efficiently managed. It will be helpful to the rest of us to hear how things develop.

Wishing you well, Yisselda
