start of week 4, very tired today and find that I feel a bit breathless in the evening when i'm tired, how long before I start feeling a bit more normal.

Early days yet - remember what your body has been through. I am just over three months in and I still get breathless, especially outside in the cold. Things do improve as the weeks go by, just very gradually. You may have set backs, especially if you feel good and overdo it a bit - most of us have been there at some point!!! It can take quite a long time for the anaesthetic to completely clear your system and that is what could be adding to your tiredness. It will get better, honest 🙂

Hi thanks for replying, think I over did it yesterday I went to Tesco to do some shopping and was very sore last night and today, thought I would be ok as I took it very slowly but seems not.

Seven weeks and I still feel tired some days. At four weeks I kept asking the question when will I feel better. It is early days and you will feel better, some days will be better than others.

I have just started cardiac rehab, if it is offered take it. Meeting people who have been through the same is a real eye opener.

For me setting myself goals is working.

They only need to be simple. I am now walking two miles a day just being out in the fresh air is fantastic.

I am female and my friends have taken me out shopping and for coffee.

I realise that if you are a man these are not usually things you want to do. Just getting out of the house and realising I am alive is great.

I am now on week 12 and still on occasion feel tired, especially if I over do it. I had a repair on my Mitral valve back at the start of December. Just take your time, set a few goals for the day but remember to rest inbetween. One of the replies says go to cardiac rehab, if you are offered it def go. I have just started the online programme in my area and it is very good. It has made me exercise, gently at first on a daily basis and made feel much better. I did not realise how unfit i was.
