Been on this dose for approximately 2 weeks now and I feel floored. Getting mild chest discomfort which was not there before and feeling anxious too. I also take 2.5mg Bisoprolol and 40mg Atorvastatin. I feel worse now than I did before I received my diagnosis. I know I need protecting but this can't be right?

I echo the comment left by JakJenLew. If you feel worse now than at the start, go and see your GP - there is no reason why you should continue to suffer (or start to suffer in your case)!
Amlodipine is known to cause tiredness so that may be part of your issue. Bisoprolol can cause breathlessness (on exertion usually) and Atorvastatin (statins in general) can cause joint pain and stiffness. I have personal experience of the latter two and given a week or so I found that the unwanted side effects wore off (that seems to be a lot of peoples experience). That may also be true of Amlodipine, but I don't know.
So, if you are feeling worse and are unhappy with how things are progressing, go pester your GP and/or Cardiologist. It can take a while to get the right cocktail of drugs. As a general rule of thumb, if your symptoms get worse, ALWAYS go and see your GP.
Went to see a GP and ended up in A&E Bloods and ECG done all entirely normal. I know the Doc was being very cautious and had my wellbeing at the forefront of his thoughts and I appreciate that. I just felt he didn't really listen to what I was saying. I was told not to drive and get my wife to take me to the hospital, he rang ahead told them to expect me. I explained that I was feeling anxious and feeling floored but he focused on the chest discomfort and concluded I was having pain at rest. I explained that I went to the gym most days and worked out with no pain whatsoever during cardio sessions, in fact I come straight from a a good 5k row and weights session to see him.
At A&E the Doctor was a breath of fresh air, a young vibrant lad who talked me through my normal blood and ECG results and my anxiety levels, he talked about me over doing it on the exercise front, advising me to ease off until my specialist appointment next month.
On the plus side I must praise the NHS for the care I have recieved over these last 4-6 weeks, brilliant!!
All in all a funny old day, which still didn't deliver any real answers to my Amlodipine question.
Cardiologist suggested Amlodipine instead of Isosorbide via a letter to my GP, who said No Thanks if it was me I wouldn't change so I stayed on the Isosorbide. I know it is just her opinion but I respect it she sees a lot of patients on various medications. With due respect Cardiologist may see you once twice a year and then you may not see the same one again, GP is a constant !!!
Mind you I wouldn't want my GP to carry out a Angioplasty or fit a Pacer but Medication I do trust her.
I agree with the comments, above about how much better your GP knows you than your consultant. I have posted before to say that I was on Amlodipene (along with Bisoporol & Candarsartan) and mentioned in passing to my GP, while discussing side effects, that I had virtually every minor side effect on the Amlodipene leaflet. He told me to stop taking it then as I wasn't suffering from high blood pressure. I stopped and the minor side effects disappeared and my BP is still fine! Discuss it with your GP.
