Just do it .
How about limiting it to one day? Mine was yesterday, but instead of my blowout of olden times, I chose things I really really wanted, but in small portions. Ive done the major blowouts and you feel awful, physically and mentally, afterwards. Mindful eating, its got to be worth it!
Be wary! Over 30 years ago a friend's mother who was always quite slight ate continuously all through Christmas Day. She never really ate that much but over the Christmas period she always ate vast amounts of food. I had gone around the previous Boxing Day and it was continuous: turkey sandwiches, mince pies, Christmas cake, nuts, chocolate, whiskey, sherry, etc... That Christmas evening, she had a heart attack which the doctors feel was brought on by the pressure on her heart of all the food. She survived and is still fairly active in her eighties although she is on statins and metformin (they feel the shock brought on Type II diabetes).
I have lost 17kg over the past eighteen months and am 7 off my target weight although the rate of loss is slowing down. These days I go for flavour and quality. Sea bass with new potatoes and green beans rather than cod ‘n’ chips from the local chippy, a 6oz rump steak instead of a 16oz sirloin, 2 pints of a decent beer instead of five of a session one, etc. Even salad is more enjoyable if you go for better quality ingredients bursting with flavour rather than struggling through a watery and tasteless one that makes it a chore.
At the end of the day it is your decision and yours alone!
I’ve been told Ur heart doesn’t kno it’s Christmas.
