I'm on omeprazole and am ok with it, but I do know one of the side effects can be stomach pains and gas, ditto ramipril. I would suggest giving your doctor a ring and speaking to them, they may be able to try you on an alternative. You may have an intolerance to one or both of them, I can't take Ramipril cos it gives me a dry cough.
I stopped taking omeprazole because I was having stomach cramps and diarrhea, at first I thought it was the aspirin but it wasn't that, [I'm only taking low dose 75mgs] I'm not saying the Omeprazole could be your problem, so don't stop taking them on my findings. Apart from the aspirin, I also take Ramipril, Atorvastatin, and steroids. I have yet to tell my Dr. that I have stopped the Omeprazole but will do when I next have a review of my medication.
Thanks for your reply but I have been on omaseprole for years so think it might be one of the other ones also I am not not ating very much so that might not be helping.
lets hope you have answered your own question, and will be a lot better when you get back to eating properly, We all react differently to medications, at the moment I'm having no side effects from the Aspirin , Ramipril or Atorvastatin, so keeping my fingers crossed.
Apart from the Clopidogrel which I took for 12 months after my HA I only started taking omeprazole a few years after as the other meds were giving me terrible heartburn and reflux. Since taking Omeprazole I have had the most settled stomach for over 20 years and apart from a little flatulence which for me is normal i have had no adverse side effects.
my symptoms were caused by aspirin stomach cramps etc and I was told to cut it out. However, not sure about omeprazole as this is suppose to protect your stomach lining as well as your gullet, however, I continued with clopidogrel they said as long as I was taking a blood thinner it was fine, see GP tel them about side affects there are other drugs that treat heart disease
