Moderate RV systolic dysfunction

My cardiologist didn't get enough information from my angiogram so he ordered an echo cardiogram. This show a much improved EF-47% up from 30% (meds?) but showed moderate RV systolic dysfunction. Even with one of my four bypasses closed my cardiologist said LV abnormalities don't account for RV dysfunction. He is sending me to a pulminologist. Has any one else had these Right Ventricle problems. Thanks.

Congratulations on your increased EF.

My husband had RV dysfunction as a consequence of his severe LV dysfunction. This is the usual cause, but a variety of lung problems can also cause RV dysfunction - hence the referral to a pulmonologist.

With RV dysfunction the RV is still coping OK, but obviously you want to keep it stable or improved! Hope the cause is established soon - diagnosis is half the solution.
