Pain in left shoulder.

Had triple bypass April this year, a few post op problems and a few setbacks, mainly pleurisy, but I still have sharp pain in joint of the shoulder around my upper back. Just wondering if this is or has happened to others? Pain is sharp stabbing feeling.

Hi twobells, upper shoulder pain for me. Down to the metal ties settling down. Might want to get yours checked out

Thanks Skid, if it doesn't ease of I will mention it to GP. Still get hot burning around the scar, but shoulder very painful. Investing about the metal ties.

I would mention it to your GP. Might be just to do with the op, your body does take a pounding! Does your shoulder hurt when you move it in different positions? I ask because I have rotator cuff damage in both shoulders but worse in my right. I can't reach behind me eg doing up/undoing my bra, or stretch the arm out to the side, I get a very sharp pain either down my arm, across my shoulder or round the joint. Get it checked out, if nothing else it should give you some reassurance knowing what's causing it - it's amazing where your mind goes when you get unexplained pains!

No it's not rotator as I had that in my right shoulder years ago and cortisone sorted that one. Just constant sharp pain in and around the whole area, but another GP visit I think,
