Hi, Recently I've stared getting a very bad painful ache in my shoulder blades and down arms. Not both together. I used to get a similar pain on my left shoulder blade before I had my triple bypass 20 years ago, and treated it as angina. Not had it again until now, and getting it both sides. It does subside after a while and a few puffs of GTN spray.
Can anyone relate to this ? Not sure if it's serious enough to go to A&E. Trying to get into GP is a waste of time.
Thankyou

Had ascending aorta and arch replaced 7 months ago (? Abbreviation is??) Keep reading posts about post surgery shoulder pain and now wondering if my diagnosed ‘frozen shoulder’ might be something surgery linked?
Hi Quoideneuf, I had scapular dyskinesis as a consequence of my CABG, very painful in my right shoulder especially at night. Went to a physio and a couple of sessions helped enormously.
Hi Grayjay, I too experience shoulder blade pains (when I'm lying down), but what I do is I sit up for a while or move position on the bed and the pain will eventually go away. Of course, if it doesn't go away or really painful, I would definitely call your GP or 111 for help. They are the experts. Cheers, Monty
Cheers Monty, I will call 111 if it gets more persistant, but I really don't want to go into hospital again after spending most of June in there. I'm just about getting over it now.👍
I have unstable angina and when it occurs it is between my shoulder blades and sometimes in my stomach as well . You should call 111 when it happens if you can't see GP or cardiologist.
