Hello, I am on Benepali for Ps Arthritis, about 10 months ago i developed scleritis and had steroid eye drops for about 8 weeks following which i was diagnosed with Horners Syndrome.

I still get intermittent eye pain but no obvious redness. Rheumy just raised his eyebrows when i eventually saw him despite my notes sitting in front of him!

Ophthalmology said i would likely have another drug added, i discussed this with him, the response was they can write to me.......not helpful it's the same hospital as i said notes were in front of him. My question is has this happened to anyone else if so was further treatment added?

Many thanks for reading

hi Anne,

I was diagnosed with scleritis over 10 years ago.

Initially it was treated with steroid eye drops but they didn’t work. I ended up having red painful eyes for about 3 weeks every month.

I managed to get a referral to an eye hospital and they started me on Adalimumab. After 2 years I had to stop it and scleritis reoccurred so I was allowed to go back on it. I then developed breast cancer and part of the treatment was the Biologic drug herceptin so I had to come off of the Humira. Once the herceptin treatment finished the scleritis reoccurred and eventually I was allowed to have the Humira again. It’s the only drug that stops my scleritis.
