Acitretin

My medication has been changed from methotrexate 15mg weekly for the last 15 years to Acitretin 25mg daily for the last three weeks. However I am now suffering a flare up on legs, hands and scalp.

I have read that Acitretin takes 2-4 weeks to work so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Has anyone else had experience of Acitretin?

Thanks

Acitretin does take longer to show improvement in symptoms and it took a dose of 50mg of Acitretin for me to see any improvement at all, but it did do the job. Unfortunately, I only stayed on it for 6 months in total as I had quite a few side effects. Was switched to Methotrexate which did nothing at all, despite being on 15mg for 4 months. Have just come off that and back to topical only for a while to give my system a break for the meds.

Good luck with the Acitretin.
