Can anyone give advice on how to help scalp psorasis. Is there a better diet that you follow. I mostly eat fish and vegetables and fruit.

I don't have suggestions about diet I'm afraid, but I've read several times about psoriasis being a symptom of hypo, or hypo not treated sufficiently well
Just something small I discovered recently when I had a flare up and the itching was driving me crazy. It's not diet but it might help. Apple cider vinegar as a rinse. Dilute one part in five raw vinegar with water. After washing my hair I poured this over patting into my scalp and waited a number of mins before rinsing well with plain water. It really helped mine.
I’ve had scalp psoriasis for years, mainly around my hairline and behind my ears. It’s never been that bad but over Christmas it flared up really badly and I have plaques all the way down my neck in red scaly patches. I came across Hanna Sillitoe on Instagram and followed the psoriasis diet she recommends (no nightshade vegetables, alcohol, caffeine, dairy, gluten) and it pretty much disappeared. However, I find that diet a bit restrictive so I’ve reintroduced a lot of things including gluten. For me, the big triggers are dairy, alcohol and too much coffee. So I try and avoid dairy and only have limited amount of alcohol and no more than one coffee a day. I try to eat loads of green leafy vegetables, and kept well hydrated. I find her posts and book really helpful for explaining what’s inflammatory and why some things trigger flare ups. I also use coconut oil on my skin, make scrubs with fine Epsom salts and jojoba oil, and use Lush’s soak and float solid shampoo. All that helps. Have heard apple cider vinegar is good too.
Can i ask what you eat on typical day? Im really struggling.
I struggled with flaking and scalp psoriasis for years. I got a prescription for betacap scalp application and almost immediately it was gone (literally two days). See you GP and get a prescription. I get the odd flare up and re-apply maybe twice a month and am happy to report I have no issues. I tried tar shampoos etc and nothing worked. Also, try natural and non fragrant shampoo/conditioners-plenty of trial and error and then stick with what works
Hi, I've just posted a similar call for advice on scalps issues. I'm not sure if I have scalp psoriasis, but I'm just out of a bad 3-year bout of it on my lower legs. I've been drinking Kefir, Yakult and taking Udos'8 pills and the results on my legs have been miraculous - not taking anything else. However, in the past 3 months my scalp symptoms have been uncomfortable and escalating. I have no faith in tar shampoos, creams etc. At this stage. In the next month or so I'm reverting to no. 3 cut of my hair and treating my scalp with 1-5 home-made cider vinegar and water mixture to see how that goes. My intuition is telling me this is a bacterial imbalance problem and possibly also age-driven (mid 60s), plus I recall my father having problems with his scalp, so a genetic contribution as well. Our weather has been unusually humid these past 6 weeks too. My symptoms include a very prickly itch, lots of flaking, hard skin bumps on the lateral ridges on the back of my head. Do you have similar symptoms? Do you have any treatments tried and failed to compare with mine
? It's beyond nuisance now so I'm really on the case, so any treatment advice with potential or evidence of benefit will be followed up.
Kind regards,
Tom C.
