Hello, I'm new here. I'm 30 year old male who has had psoriasis for about 6 years now. I've taken several different kind of injections for it. Some who help but then it all would come back. To me I would think there HAS to be something in this world that cures it. Can psoriasis really go away for good or is it once you have it your stuck with it? Frustrating...

Hello there, I can empathise and am a fellow sufferer ( since 1989 ). Whilst it will never go away for good, you can control it and with the right treatment keep it at bay. I would recommend you research the condition and consider all the different options for relief / remission. I could tell you what works for me but my experience is that what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for all. Use these forum's, the Internet, refer to a Dermatologist, try homeopath treatments and hopefully you will find something that works for you. Please ask if you need any advice.

Psoriasis doesn't go away. But my own experience is that it can lie low for a long time, sometimes a very long time. I think it showed up in my late 20s but was so mild I barely gave it a thought and after about 10 years it pretty much disappeared again. Last year, i.e. about 23 years later, it hit me hard and for the first time I really tried to understand more about it.

The only sure conclusion I've come to is that psoriasis is one of those things where trial and error and persistence are essential. I reckon it's worth racking your brains to think what might possibly be triggering flare-ups so that you can try to minimise those factors. And the treatments ... wow! There's no shortage of those is there? It's mind-boggling. But definitely worth ploughing through them in the hope of finding those that do make a difference to you.

Hi!

I think we all wish there was a cure, but to quote any and all reading material on psoriasis :

"there is no cure for psoriasis but many treatments exist to ease the symptoms"

Read up ons psoriasis and make peace. It's not fun, but it's for life and hereditary so find a way to cope.

Really sorry. Psoriasis sucks, but it really isn't the end of the world.
