I currently take acetretin and have taken two weeks off work with anxiety. How does everyone cope with full time work and skin care? How does your employer help you. Are they sympathetic

Working with full psoriasis
Hi!
I work in a salon. It was tuff in the beginning but I educated my clients. I am also fortunet to have substantial amount of clients with psoriasis themselves, saying it helps not having to explain their scalp psoriasis or why they're skin looks like it does. The one even said it's nice just to have their hair done without getting crapy advice about psoriasis.
We have to carve our own space and become proud of our pink-ness. It's hard, and I cry alot still, but noby is going to help you. Be strong! Explain to people and take charge.
I'm retired now but whilst working I always informed my employers that I had Ps on any application forms. I only had a problem with one who stated that if I had time off work with it they would not pay me. All others never said this and paid me if I was off work. As to colleagues once they understood the situation they were very supportive.
Anxiety is part of the disease and you can feed it with your thoughts. Try to find a way of calming yourself, don't do as I did and get to the stage where I was anxious before I left home. The only way that I stopped it to get out was to chew gum and concentrated on that, over the years I've gradually weaned myself off that. Even today I still have bouts of anxiety and depression, but have learnt to put my skills into action. Ask your GP for some councilling as they will provide you with those skills, I found them very helpful and as mentioned I use the skills they gave me, it does help.
I hope you feel better soon, just take each day as it comes at the moment.
