Although I am only marginally over weight my body fat is far too high. I had it measured yesterday and it is 41%. Desperately need to lower it. Am thinking of going to a personal trainer to get a program set up. My diet is generally pretty healthy so think I am going to have to work on exercise to do it

High body fat
What I mean is I eat healthy home cooked meals, I eat 5 plus servings of fruit and veg a day. I try to vary my breakfasts, some days Porridge with fruit in it (apricots by choice). Another day may be Egg on Toast, one of my favourite breakfasts is Smoked haddock served on a bed of wilted spinach topped with a poached egg. Lunch is sometimes a sandwich, sometimes salad in the winter months often a bowl of homemade soup. Dinners vary, I have fish two or threes times a week, I keep carbohydrates low Further details I think would become boring. I love chocolate but try not to have it too often. I very rarely eat pastry, cakes or biscuits. I have studied human nutrition so am aware of what is a good diet and what is not
I would concur. I would also say that many health professionals have very little knowledge of healthy eating or of weight control. This is why I am looking to find a PT who specialises in their chosen profession and have an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body
Hi Annde, I'm new to this group but have been working with someone very similar to you. She lost a stone in weight using only nutrition-based therapy. By recognising that what works for one person may not work for another because we are all different makes things easy and quick to resolve. If you're still struggling with your weight and want a healthy way to address it let me know.
Have now signed up with a personal trainer and have been given an eating plan and exercise regime. Just off to my second workout. Hopefully this will have the desired effect
