polycystic ovary syndrome

Hi does anyone know if polycystic ovary syndrome is associated with Behcet`s?? Thanks.

I'm interested to know this too. I have lots of issues with my 'girl parts' and often wonder if they're related to Behcet's.

Hi Tamirra,

I have never been diagnosed with BD but my 10 year old daughter has it.

Last year we got the help from a wonderful gynaecologist who informed me that if my daughter has ulcers I must have had it, and wanted to know of my other problems down below. At the age of 16 I had trouble down below & had my first real joint, skin & headache problems. I was not sexually active yet the gynaecologist was positive it was a virus of some sort & did years of tests. Once I told this new Dr she explained it had to be ulcers if everything was coming back negative. I have had 2 cysts burst twice & hospitalised both times. I have also had 5 ops for endometriosis which was on my bowel, liver, ligaments & ulcers. I had 2 years of trouble trying to fall pregnant. This Dr said they are all a type of ulcer. The sores that one of the ladies have just posted, was what my skin looked like on my face for nearly 10years. Yet I didn't have bad skin as a teenager. I have read on another BD sight of another lady that had every symptom I have.

Not sure if that helps as I'm not fully diagnosed but my whole family thinks I have a milder form of my daughter, as I don't have uveitis.

Thanks for your reply, my daughter is the only one in the family that has Behcets, we have been told that my husband has passed it to her from his genes as he is a Greek Cypriot, but im on the understanding it isnt always heriditary.
