I get hot and cold feet alternating but find ginger tea or capsules help the cold feet. It also acts as an anti-iflammatory and good for nausea

My hands and feet are always cold and have Raynauds Disease. I think circulatory problems go hand in hand with BD (Excuse the pun). I have to wear thick socks to bed even in the summer but nothing seems to help. Will have to try Andrea's advice.

I totally agree with Andrea on taking ginger. I have terrible cold hands and feet and always have bad ulcers throughout my digestive system. I find eating ginger (usually crystalised just because its a bit sweeter to taste) really helps. It seems to soothe and cleanse my whole system somehow. I have read in books that it is a natural thing to use as an anti-inflammatory and can certainly say that it seems to work well for me. Well worth a try. I haven't had as much success with powdered ginger or capsules but always try to include fresh or powdered in food whenever possible. Good luck hun. Big hugs xx

On the same vein...does anyones feet feel wet when they're cold?

Only they arent wet?

Its always nice to hope one isn't teetering on the brink of madness :-)

Hello Jill,

I have often had this sensation. I have thought that it is a form of Raynauds disease which is commonly suffered in conjunction with BD.

Of course, I could be that we are all a bit mad!!!! :o

I also have this problem and I have polyradiculopathy (nerve damage to my peripheral nerves caused by BD) and understand this is a symptom of nerve damage. I also suffer from 'shooting' pain down my arms and legs as a result. Does this sound familiar?

Cold feet have been the bane of my mother's life and now mine with BD.

I find it is important not to let them get cold (I always wear cotton socks around the house even in summer.

I've also found using a warmer (such as a wheatie bag or hot water bottle) helps.

Have ordered an electric throw (as recommended by Jill).

At night I have a feather pillow in the bottom of my bed to wrap them in which does help (and also keep them raised).

Cheers

Lesley

I have had cold hands and feet for years and thought it was because I had low blood pressure and poor circulation. Didn't realise it could be linked to BD. Not even something I have mentioned to my doctor before.
