Methotrexate and cramps?

Has anyone experienced cramps in the lower legs on methrotrexate? Overall I've hardly had any nausea but am still on 10mgs and it is only my third week. One thing I've noticed at night is I'm getting cramps in my right foot (not too bad).

Hi lesley

It is a bit hard for me to say as I suffer with spasms and cramps anyway. But I can't say it has been more frequent or worse since I started the methotrexate.

I take a mixture of Calcium, Magnesium and pottasium for cramps and spasms. I know when I am dehydrated it makes them a lot worse and the Calc, Mag, Pottasium replaces electrolytes that the body may have lost through perspiring or not drinking enough water or kidneys overworking a bit.

Are you having frequent blood tests as I have them every month and find this reasurring and helps because when I feel worse the ESR and CRP's are up high, which then confirms to me why I don't feel well. Also this gives the electrolyte counts as well.

I can't say I get any side affects now after 6 months of taking it. I do still get the feeling very fatigued the day and day after taking it though.

Hope this helps

Thanks Andrea, it has only happened a couple of times and I've managed to stop it going into a full blown cramp. Yes I am having fairly regular blood tests and the ESR and CRP's have been high.

Didn't feel too well this morning and my blood pressure is pretty low so will just watch that.

This is only my third week, however I seem to be getting a lot of energy the day after taking MTX and then probably overdoing it as the rest of the week isn't so good.

My fourth dose is tomorrow.

Cheer

Hi lesley

I think you are right to keep an eye on it, especially with the low blood pressure and given your vascular problems.

I am glad MTX seems to be agreeing with you so far

Good luck with the 4th dose

Thanks Andrea

I'll let you know how I go. Do you feel 'bad' as it get's towards the end of the week before your next dose?

Hi lesley....I noticed this a lot in the beginning, but not so much now.

It sort of seemed to me that I spent 2 days of the week feeling rotten after I had taken it then I had another couple of days where I thought I was picking up and then another couple of days winding down until I took it again.

Are you like me where I was monitoring myself all the time, in the beginning ?

I now realise that it is going to take more time for the medication to react fully in me.

Hi Andrea - cycle that sounds almost the same. I've been told that it takes a couple of months to get into the system. I think the thalidomide is also getting out of my system so am having a very minor break out and extremely uncomfortable legs (cold, painful, tingling etc.).

I'm taking a split dose today to see what happens. Also though I might start keeping a diary.

Cheers

I have been in the hell of period pain for more than 15 years, that is really horrible thing, I would like to kill myself when I think of every month, I have to bear it.

One day I searched on Bing, period pain remedies, period pain relief, find this website, I spent $20, bought one pack, two pieces, after I stick the Angel's Period herbal pad to my belly per the instruction on the website, ohhhh, my god, I hope I knew this medicine long time ago, it is not only release my horrible pain, but make me comfortable like nothing happen, is it real?

I can't believe that! I tried so many medicine, never worked on me.

I ordered $89 which is three courses usage right away, used three periods, now, I am happy like a man, I never even believe I had problem with my periods before, my periods never bother me any more.

Try it, you will see, you can really get rid of your period pain or menstrual cramps or PMS, all my friends have the seem problems already get our of the hell like me, there's no other medicine better than this!
