We live in Kent and there never seems to be any fund raising events here for Behcets, can anyone tell me where the nearest is and when? Thanks

fund raising events here for Behcets
The Society website has three events near to Kent, the London Brighton Cycle ride, The Thames Path Walk and Moles in London. Also we have contacts for parachute jumps in Kent and there are walks and runs of all sorts. The alternative is to help us arrange an event that people can join something simple like a coffee or pub quiz can help raise much needed funds contact info@behcetsdisease.org.uk
Hello Tamirra,
Some people hold events that you can't personally take part in, but can sponsor and pass on details to other potential sponsors if you wish. e.g. justgiving.com/HilandDave
The Society have lots of fund raising info and will support you if you choose to do something yourself. There's some info about it on their website. It's a great opportunity to raise awareness too, as you can put up leaflets and posters and wear BD t shirts.
Note to UKadmin - could you put this event up on the website please? Thanks.
Thank you Tigerfeet, what i would like to wear and my whole family is an awareness Behcets rubber band or something of that sort if you know what i mean and the money goes to the charity.
I suggest you have a look at the Society website where I think you will find something that appeals to you - you can buy wrist bands I believe. They also supply collection boxes (I have one on my sideboard and we all put our loose change in it) and you can buy t shirts, christmas cards and possibly other things - I haven't looked for a while myself. Another thing you can do, and ask your family, work colleagues, friends - everyone you know, is to collect used postage stamps. Leave a reasonable amount of envelope around the edge of the stamp. Even if people give you one or two, it adds up eventually. I usually remind people in summer (Postcards) and winter (Christmas) and manage to collect a couple of large envelopes stuffed full most years. Thanks very much for doing this by the way - it all helps.
Thank you Tigerfeet, i like the sound of the collection box, will look on the site. x
