My 11 year old daughter who already has a diagnosis of an auto-inflammatory condition CRMO (Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis). She also suffers with psoriasis. She has been displaying symptoms of Behcets. She is suffering with - ++ abdominal pain sometimes leading to diarrhoea, occasional mouth ulcers (maybe 4 times a year), ++ recurrent genital ulcers, 3 episodes of Uveitis, ++ acne type spots on buttocks and thighs.
The GP keeps prescribing her with antibiotics for the genital ulcers and not investigating why she keeps getting them.
I have a GP appointment tomorrow for her and was wondering if anyone could help me with how to push for specific investigations for her?

I would ask for a dermatology referral. A lot of dermatologists specialize in diagnosing vasculitis and Behçet’s through ulcer biopsies! Especially with oral ulcers! I would advocate for no more antibiotics as they aren’t helping and will mess up her GI tract. I would also ask for a rheumatology referral and GI referral!
Hi, I picked up on this one as I also get the Papo pustular lesions across the bottom. I was given anti biotics roll ons for my skin which did nothing. Plus she is starting to get to the age where she will be more conscious of them probably. When she heads into puberty she is likely to be fobbed off as I was that this is hormonal. If you can take photos compare them to those on vasculitis UK. Also I had genital scarring & no idea I’d had recurrent ulcers there either. It might be enough to say you think she has something more going on and you would like her referred to rheumatology/paediatric specialist as she already has one condition. Do keep plugging, my mother did the same all through my childhood and I’m in my early forties now, diagnosed in my late thirties. My life would have been a little easier if I’d had the right meds, she may struggle through education like I did otherwise due to be constantly unwell. Good luck. Best wishes
Infliximab plus azathioprine would stop the immune system attacking its own cells , those symptoms are behcets and find treatment fast before it gets worse the quicker you solve it the safer spevailly eye involvement
