I have had ulcers in my small intestine (jejunum & ileum) for years. GI symptoms for 30 years. Finally the docs are taking me seriously. Testing indicates Behçet. Any suggestions for diet or therapies that worked for you?

Sorry to hear you’ve been suffering these symptoms for so long 🤗 Have you received a definitive diagnosis of Behçets yet ?
Hello; My young son has Brainstem Pons Lesions/We use Neem Leaf boiled water for brushing teeth along with Neem toothpaste and Neem Powder. We also drink the Neem Leaf Extract with coconut oil like a boiled tea, very small amount about 2-3 teaspoon only once or twice a month... here is article on Neem for your situation... gastrores.org/index.php/Gas...
Hello! I follow from the usual fiber, veggies, fruits, low carbs, etc. I wanted to try the Wahls protocol but could not keep it up. Terry Wahls is a doctor who suffers from MS. She was bound to a wheelchair but managed to overcome this with the Wahls eating protocol. She has written a book on this - I found it on kindle.
I have been imagining that I might have ulcers in my intestines - do you know what is the name of the test that can confirm this?
Kind regards
I had a capsule endoscopy (you swallow a capsule with a camera in it). It takes 3 pictures a second as it travels through. They saw ulcers in my jejunum (middle of small intestine). They also saw ulcers in my terminal ileum on a recent colonoscopy. They thought I had Crohn’s but my ANA titer was elevated and I guess the ulcers look different
As far a diet, I read that certain foods bring on a flare like nuts, pineapple and some kind of cheese. Do you find that to be true?
Thanks for responding. I have not suspected intestinal ulcerations for a while, but it is good to know what test might help for’ just in case.’
I have not observed a specific food trigger, although I have also read about certain nuts and some cheese being ‘culprits”. I try to minimize gluten but give in once in a while to favorite breads - no adverse reaction as far as I could tell. It probably helps that except for rare occasions, 100% of my daily food intake is prepared at home from unprocessed meats, fish, veggies, grains and fruits. I even mill my own flours.
My most significant triggers for ulcerations are over exertion (even if I enjoyed the activity). For uveitis, I think stress is the more significant trigger for me.
Take care
Yup whole foods and sugar free over here. Turns out im missing all the disaccharides, but sugars were responsible for making my flares worse and weakened my immune system, not to mention the inflammation.
I eat meat/fish, fats, veggies- antiinflammatory herbs. I am very low carb. I will eat low sugar free from time to time, but its not something i do daily.
Once i cut sugars, i got my life back and the ulcers settled down. Nothing from a box, or bag. Think from this earth, think high protein.
Remicade is the only treatment that helped with severe nausea and gastro pain for me. As far as diet goes, I could only eat a few things until the nausea improved. So thankful for the biologics treatments. Hope something works for you!
I had upper endoscopy which revealed mild gastritis but no ulcers , however there was August & their high doses of esomprazole & gaviscon haven’t done anything. So I’m classed as chronic gastritis now . Strange that I get increased gastritis symptoms just as My Behçet’s flares up.
