My old rheumatologist tested me every three months for the above to see if I was still Becket active. My new rheumatologist says he doesn't understand why as it is only a test done once to determine Bechet's. Does anyone else have this test done more than once and if so, why?
Thanks!

Hi, It’s a genetic test, so the result won’t change. It’s an indicator but not a requirement to be diagnosed with Behcets. I don’t have it & im diagnosed. Hope that helps. Best wishes
Omg, now that's the funniest thing I've heard. SCMW is correct that's a genetic test. Both my daughter and I have the gene and we are both diagnosed with behcets.
My old rheumatologist sent me along for genetic tests for Behcet's and EDS, the geneticist said that over 50% of Behcet's sufferers would not prove they had the gene and he was not prepared to do and said after doing family history there was no reason to do a test for EDS since I had clearly got this condition from my mother.
I was diagnosed with Bechet’s around six months ago and I asked for the test. It came back positive. Agree with the others that I thought it was a genetic test so would only need to be done once. The test took about 6-8 weeks to come back though!
