I see everyone mentioning flare ups, but I have chronic pain. My left hip/ lateral thigh are always hurting. What exactly are the flare ups referring to? I have had mouth ulcers 3 times in 3 months which just started for me among MANY other issues for about 2 years. I was just diagnosed a few days ago.

Hi, I was asked at the centre of excellence how many flares I had had and struggled to answer as it felt like my body has gone awol for the last few years. I understand it to be a period when your symptoms noticeably worsen or when you get new symptoms. The symptom I actually went to the GP with was actually hip pain myself last Summer which led to diagnosis in May. It wasn’t until I started monitoring the ulcers I realised they were continual. Anyhow I hope that helps. Best wishes
