What helps me during flares...

I thought I'd take this opportunity to share what helps me with this community. When I have a bad canker sore outbreak there are usually 2-4 directly on my tonsils. Tonsillitis is essentially inflammation and irritation so I think I get that too on top of a flare. When I get mouth ulcers like that...the whole back of my throat and roof of my mouth break out in tiny like bumps like a rash in addition to the ulcers. I know I get them down my throat too bc it feels like I'm gagging And my throat is so sore. A couple things that help me with my mouth sores and flares... Glyco-Thymoline- it's a mouthwash i gargle EVERYDAY 2x a day. It alkalizes your mouth and it does help. Also I use sqigle or uncle Harry's toothpaste. Both are also alkalizing. When I am in a ton of pain and just need to numb it enough to go to sleep... I gargle a mix of childrens Benadryl and maalox. When I have ulcers down below I use herp be gone (it's not just for "herpes" it's for all sorts of rashes, ulcers etc). All natural and it helps sooth the pain. I am also on colchicine 3x a day and it's really helped a lot! I went from having a flare constantly for months and months on end to now really just before my period every month. I take a cod liver oil supplement and rainbow light multi vitamin and I avoid gluten as much as I can. The one think I can't seem to get rid of at all is the inflammation in my shines. They feel like someone kicked me and I have two knots. Erythema nodosum I think it's called. I use essentials oils on them... purification blend and Panaway -young living brand but i am sure other brands make similar blends ( i rotate between the two) they do seem to help when I use them consistently. I can't stand the smell of panaway so it's hard to stay motivated to use it. I am not by any means 100% but I'd say I feel pretty good about 70% of the time. Best of luck to everyone on this forum to finding the best healing methods for yourself. I hope this helps someone out. Lots of love my behcets warriors!!!

Hi justbr34the! Thanks for the precious advice! I recognize myself in everything you have described!!! I also have flare only before my period every month. My rheumatologist prescribed me Colchicine 0.6mg/day, after few weeks trying, I did not feel any improvement, so I stopped it. I take multivitamin + fish oil Omega-3, I'm gluten and dairy free, exercice twice a week + walking everyday. My flares are really less than half of what it was last year! If I have a big flare (mouth ulcers) I used a "magic mouth wash" also prescribed that I don't swallow (it's Prednisone and Benadryl together), it really helps me! Best luck to all of you.
