My husband and I try to have a teaspoon everyday in our food but I am finding it difficult to find food to add it into. Obviously adding it to any curry means you do not taste it. Adding to a yoghurt I can still taste it but my husband cannot, I am in the process of hopefully finding maybe a drink that I can add it too hence can then take at the same time each day. Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated

Try adding it to a cup soup or if you like marmite/ bovril / oxo type drinks add to those. Also add a tablespoon to soups and stews when cooking and sprinkle on to roasted vegetable dishes before roasting. It is also nice mixed with smoked Paprika in paella or sprinkle onto boiled new potatoes / sweet potatoes with a little melted butter and popped into the oven for 5 minutes.

You can add turmeric into tea so have ginger and turmeric. I add it into soups that I make and also if I have vegetable smoothies I add turmeric. I think the key is to add a little into a few things and not a lot into one.

Than you for replying adding a teaspoon is probably not the best when I do not like the taste so will add little and often 👍

I add it into any soup, stew or savoury dish. I use the fresh root a lot as this is milder in flavour than the powder, and can be added to any smoothie, even a fruit one, without too much impact on the flavour. A lot of my smoothies combine fruit and green veg, so turmeric root is fine in them.

Many people who want to get a good dose of turmeric every day drink a traditional Indian drink called 'golden milk'. This is a drink that combines turmeric, milk, coconut oil and black pepper. Some say these ingredients are the best combination for getting the therapeutic benefits of turmeric. Just google 'golden milk' for instructions on how to make it.

Thank you for the advise. I have never seen fresh turmeric so will need to google so I know what it looks likes. Do you grate it or slice it and does it have to be cooked if fresh and not powder form?

It looks like a small ginger root, but deep yellow inside. I use it raw in smoothies. I slice it like ginger for use on cooking.

The root is possibly more effective than pills or dry spice as curcumin levels in those can vary a great deal.

You can also have it as a pill. I order it on Amazon once every 2 months. I do cook with turmeric but if I don't then I take the turmeric pill for breakfast and one at lunch.

Thank you all for your replies. I have now tried Golden Tea which I was not looking forward to trying but it actually was ok and because you are adding Turmeric, Ginger, Cinnamin, black pepper, maple syrup or sugar then you can play around to get to the taste that is really liked or at least one you can tolerate hence being able to have your one teaspoon of Turmeric on a daily basis. I had missed a few days every week if we were not eating curry etc and unlike my husband I cannot stand it in a yoghurt so having tried this Golden Tea I am now chuffed to bits :-)
