What specialist treats Bahcets
Hi nancyd,
Yes, you're seeing the right specialist. I actually see multiple specialists.... Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Hemotologist, Cardiologist, Orthopedics, Dermatologist, and my primary. It all depends on what systems are affected & the symptoms you have. Hope you're doing well and feeling better.
Sense8 (Tanya🙂)
Hi yes often rheumatologists deal with Behcet's. I personally moved specialists because of treatment issues and ended up seeing a vasculitis specialist. It made a difference to my care. He is great
If your symptoms are under control and you are feeling ok stay where you are x
Rhuematologist is the first place to go! As SENSE8 was saying, depending on your symptoms with what's affected you may need to see other specialists.
Myself personally I have seen:
Dermatologist: for the pitysporum folliculitis/acne rosacea.
Gastroenterologist: sucrose intolerance/stomach ulcers
Urologist: frequent UTI's
and of course Gyno: genital ulcers/lady bits
They all help deal with parts of one big, annoying problem.
Good luck and feel well!
