Is anemia in anyway connected to BD? My blood work keeps popping up with it. Kinda scary.

I've had anemia off and on for the 30+ years that I've had BD.

Hi
I am not a dr of course but a dr told me that chronic inflammation in chronic disease can causes low red count annemia (something to do with your bone marrow maybe - not quite sure what he said now).. I had slight low red cell count in a flare over the summer and it improved when flare settled a little. Not sating its this as it could be blood loss somewhere or low iron in diet but maybe worth asking your dr about chronic ill health possibility.

Yes it is - the mouth ulcers can hinder the way that the body processes the iron in your food so you need to be on a supplement to cope
My folic acid ia always low I was told it was due to malabsorption in the gut
