Feeling low!

Forgot to mention! Had a really scary episode today in the car and didn't recognise where I was . I have felt for months that I have had memory problems but everyone has said it is related to stress. Now I'm not too sure and I'm feeling quite scared xx

Hi there,

We all call this sort of thing 'brain fog'. I think most of us can empathise with this sort of episode.

From what you say in your previous post, you are under a whole load of stress, coping with a child with problems as well as a chronic disease yourself. I think stress helps to bring on these sorts of disremembrances. It would be a good idea to make a list of these episodes, with dates to show the doctor next time you visit. You could also inform your GP about the Behcet Syndrome Society's Centres of Excellence which you are eligible to attend. They are in London, Birmingham and Liverpool and would offer you specialist care.

There are so many different variations of Behcet's disease and neurological disturbance can be related to some of them. This is why expert knowledge of our very rare disease is so necessary.

I wish you all the best, and try not to worry too much.

This happened to me once. It was a couple of years ago, and hasn't happened since. I had other neurological symptoms at the time, so I had an MRI and thankfully all was clear.

It was horribly scary! Definitely talk to your GP about it. People always attribute everything to stress. My sister insists on telling me my ulcers are due to 'being run down'. We are the experts, not them. There is no way anyone without Behçet's can understand what it's like.

The exact same happened to me, early on into the flare. I swear methotrexate messes with your head as I had other similar incidents and forgetting my words, etc.

Don't dispair. Let your md know-so he can make the best treatment decision for you:)

Trust ME, you are far fr alone in this scary scenario of forgetfulness, etc.

Make sure you get plenty of rest! #1 thing we all need to do:)

Take care,

Gen

Unfortunately, this a regular occurrence for me due to my memory loss as I have neuro BD. Thank goodness for my incar GPS system so I am able to navigate home safely. The most frustrating thing is when you can't recognise your car in a huge car park. I have a large 4wd now so its easily spotted when I get confused.

I hope your occurrences are few and far between. Good luck!

I know what you mean!! The car in the sea of cars.....I've got a white suv. One day, it wouldn't unlock with the clicker...I thought what the hell?! So I stick the key in the handle but it still won't unlock. As I'm starring thru the driver side window, I'm saying to myself...."I never left a bag on the seat, that's not mine"....DOH!! NOT MY CAR!! I was so paranoid someone saw me! Humiliating😳
