hiya all is there any one on ere that can tell , me which is the best hospital in the uk . that can deal this this awful disease coz it driving me mad

Am sorry to hear that you are struggling. There are 3 centres in the UK that are "Centres of Excellence" and your GP (or dentist / optician) can refer you to the one which is closest to you if you have Behcet's or suspected Behcet's Disease and they are in London, Liverpool and Birmingham. There is lots of information about this on the Behcet's Syndrome Society website. You may find some of the medical factsheets on there helpful to you too. If you can not get to a COE there are other bigger teaching hospitals where there are Consultants with a specialist knowledge of Behcet's. Hope this helps.

Hi

I live in Devon too and go to the London COE as my son lives there. I find the train connection convenient. I kow another Devon Behcet 'survivor' has opted to go to Birmingham as her husband takes her in the car and driving through London to the Eastend would be a nightmare!

Definately a good move to get a referral - your GP can do this.best to do as soon as possible as there are some waiting times building up. It does not cost GP or hospital anything to refer you.

thankyou ever so much am gonna op 4 birmingham has ive got friends near by seeing doc fri morning so with luck should get things moving fast with luck am just so fed up with unclers lol skin burning joints hurting u know it it like .

As usual, it all depends on where you live. I am only 35 miles from London, but am treated at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge where there is a dedicated clinic for all sorts of vasculitis. I could not have better treatment. I think that is where you would be sent if you lived anywhere in the East Anglia region.
